Quality learning for all children in the year before starting school. The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline shares the Early Years Learning Framework’s vision and aims to build success for life.
The guideline has helped shape our learning programs for children who are in our care during the year before starting school. During this learning stage, we aim to build independence and self-confidence and to nurture positive relationships with others.
We also use learning technologies and explore literacy and numeracy in meaningful and fun ways, with plenty of play-based learning activities built into each day.
We develop a genuine sense of preparedness for school and a solid foundation for a successful transition and rewarding school life.

Our Kindergarten educators take the time to get to know each child. We work with their interests, strengths, and personality to support their learning in a way that feels natural. The goal is to build a love for learning and encourage kids to ask questions, try new things, and enjoy discovering the world around them.
Kindergarten also helps children learn how to work in a group, listen to others, and take turns. These social skills are just as important as reading or counting. Every day, we create moments where children can practise kindness, build friendships, and learn how to express their feelings in healthy ways.
